FAQ
What is the cause of white tarnish on elevation and clinker brick walls? How to avoid it?
The cause of such bloom and tarnish is the migration of various chemical compounds dissolved in water, which are mainly calcium ions and sulphites, from the wall inside to its surface where they crystallise. Such compounds are formed in mortar setting process and penetrate to the inside and wall surface together with ground water, rainwater and condensing moisture. To maximally protect against appearance of bloom, the following basic rules should be considered:
The above measures should be observed to reduce the risk of bloom appearance. Absolute protection, however, can only be achieved using the special ALPOL AZ 120 ÷ AZ 126 nano-mortar for clinker. Incorporating the innovative nano-additives technology (specially selected structures of particle size of one millionth of a millimetre) practically stops the migration of salts dissolved in water, and their resultant appearance and crystallisation on a wall surface.
