Mineral or organic-bonded plasterwork is essential to provide protection to the thermal insulation course from severe weather conditions (rain, snow, excessive exposure to sunlight, negative temperature impact), mechanical damage, contamination etc. The system solution without plaster finish on walls is used for mineral wool-based insulation, only for structural floors on ceiling side in closed non-heated locations, such as garages and cellars, above which there are heated places. With the AT-15-6540/2007 Technical Approval “Set of products for ALPOL EKO PLUS WM thermal insulation system using mineral wool for insulation”, ALPOL GIPS offers the K type (without plaster), suitable for the above application. After embedding reinforcing mesh in ALPOL AK 533 adhesive mortar, the reinforcing course can be left unfinished, or be painted with e.g. ALPOL AF 660 silicate or ALPOL AF 680 silicone façade paint. Hence, the solution without plasterwork is recommended only for insulating garages.
