For renovating painting of antique buildings the silicate ALPOL AF 660 and silicone ALPOL AF 680 paint types are recommended. Silicate paint is featured by a great opacity and great permeability to air and CO₂. After application of the paint, porosity and structure of the surface remains unchanged, which allows to preserve its natural look. In addition to great permeability to steam, another advantage of the silicone paint is its high resistance to water (hydrophobic property) and the contamination reduction effect, which considerably broadens the scope of this paint applications.
