Does the grey AT 301 cement-lime plaster have to be trowelled smooth before fixing ceramic tiles?

In principle, it is enough to prepare even plane, bearing in mind to keep right angles in the corners. The plaster can be left after the second operation, i.e. after “trapezoid” skimming, or scratching slight irregularities and corners out. Surfaces to be tiled require no trowelling.
