Substrate type
Mineral textured ALPOL AT 319 plaster, ALPOL AT 320÷337 mineral decorative plaster, ALPOL AT 350÷357 acrylic plaster, properly cured cement-lime plaster and concrete surfaces, as well as other mineral surfaces, wooden and wood-based products.
Substrate preparation
The substrate should be dry, clean, stable and sound, free from dust and greasy spots, without biological and chemical (salty or corrosive) efflorescence. Wash old mineral surfaces with a jet of water. Remove any loose material not bonded to the substrate. Before impregnation, prime absorbing or dusty (strongly chalking) surfaces with ALPOL AG 707 silicate-polymer primer for mineral substrates. When painting fresh plaster, allow sufficient drying and curing time: for cement-lime plaster at least 28 days, for decorative plaster at least 14 days and for plaster based on organic (acrylic) binders at least 3 days. In adverse weather conditions, the curing time should be extended as appropriate. In case of non-uniform absorption of mineral plaster or salt efflorescence reducing hiding power and causing stains and discolouration of the paint coating, it is recommended to prime the surface with ALPOL AG 701 primer first. When ALPOL AG 701 primer is used, the curing period of decorative mineral plaster can be reduced to 7 days.
Instructions for use
The packaging contains a ready to use product. After mixing thoroughly, the product can be applied in a thin coat with a paintbrush, rubbing it firmly into the substrate. It is recommended to apply two coats of the impregnating agent. Apply the second coat only when the first one dries out completely. While making breaks, leave tools in the impregnating agent. In order to avoid shade differences, it is recommended to use products with the same batch numbers on the entire area, or to mix the contents of several containers with different batch numbers. Stir the product frequently during work and close the container tightly once finished. Wash the tools with water after use.
Tools
Paintbrush or brush.
Working conditions
Work in ambient and surface temperatures between +5°C and + 25°C. Do not add other preparations to the impregnating agent. Do not thin with water. Avoid working in direct sunlight, during strong wind and high air humidity. One coat is dry to touch after approx. 2 hours from application. The coat is fully hardened after at least 24 hours from application. Low temperature and high air humidity will extend the drying and curing time. Protect a freshly applied coating from precipitation by using suitable covers until it dries completely, as adverse conditions during application and drying of the impregnating agent may result in discolouration and tint distortion.
Storage
Store in original, unopened packages in a dry place. Shelf life is 12 months from production date. Protect from freezing during transport and storage.
Notes
The specifications and instructions for use are based on the temperature (23±2)°C and relative air humidity (50±5)%. The drying time may alter in different climate. Wear safety goggles. If the product gets into eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Protect also the skin using protective clothing and gloves. Keep away from children. Clean fresh stains with water. The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage resulting from improper or inappropriate use of the product.
