Coloured mortar for building and grouting face brickwork and for construction of structural walls, chimneys, fencing, foundations, and wells made of clinker bricks. Can also be used for grouting joints up to 30 mm wide among bricks and façade tiles. The precisely developed formula provides the mortar with optimal adhesion and maximum double protection against salt efflorescence. The efflorescence protection is realized in a passive way - through the use of nanometric additives (that limit capillary rise) and active way - by adding appropriately activated pozzuolanas with high chemical reactivity (that bind compounds which may form efflorescences). The use of this technology has made it possible to obtain mortar with high tightness and durability. Intended for interior and exterior use. Frost resistant.
Package
Single: 25 kg bag / Collective: 1200 kg shrink-wrapped pallet
Masonry components
Clean, dry and undamaged clinker or face bricks with up to 8% absorbency.
Instructions for use
Mechanically mix the contents of the bag or a measured amount of product with specified amount of cold and fresh water to bring the mortar to homogeneous consistence. The mixing time should be 2–3 minutes. Allow 5 minutes and stir the mix again. If necessary, the resulting mortar consistency can be adjusted by adding measured small amounts of water or material to the mortar and mixing again. Repeat the process until you reach the desired consistency. Subsequent batches of mortar should be prepared using the same proportions. Lay bricks with full joints. Apply the mortar with a trowel and remove the excess after smoothing. After initial setting, profile the joint as required using a grout spreader. Use a special grout set (grout stand + grout trowel) to grout the joints. Mortar prepared for bricklaying should be used within 3 hours from mixing with water (within 1 hour when grouting). If the mortar thickens in that period of time, stir it again thoroughly without adding water. Adding too much water impairs all mortar characteristics: adhesion, strength, setting time and resistance to efflorescence. It may also lead the joins to alter their colour. Work carefully and remove any staining without moistening it. It is recommended to use clean, stainless steel tools.
Tools
Tilting mixer, low-speed electric mixer, basket mixer, trowel, grout spreader, brush, container for mortar, container for water dosing.
Working conditions
Work at ambient temperatures between +5°C and +25°C. Before the bricklaying is started, the foundation should be protected against capillary break by making appropriate insulation. Do not add any other agents to the mortar. Protect fresh wall against adverse weather conditions for at least 7 days (rainfall, fast drying, frost) by covering it with foil in such a way as to ensure airflow or by using other appropriate cover/canopy. Do not erect face walls in foggy, rainy or hot days.
Storage
Store in original, unopened packages in dry place – shelf life 12 months from production date. Protect from moisture during transport and storage.
Notes
The specifications and instructions for use are based on the temperature of 20(±2)°C and relative air humidity 65(±5)%. The workability may vary depending on conditions. Becomes alkaline after mixing with water. Irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin. Appropriate eye, respiratory system and skin protection measures should be used. In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Keep out of the reach of children. Use water to clean fresh dirt or ALPOL AI 770 cleaner to remove hardened dirt. The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage resulting from unskillful or improper use of the product.
General recommendations
Carry out masonry works in accordance with the ALPOL Nanosystem Operating Instructions, principles of the construction industry, as well as health and safety standards and regulations. Due to the mineral origin of the mortar components and the specificity of the production, slight differences in colour may occur between different batches. For this reason, it is recommended to use material from a single production batch for a given plane of the façade or component, or if this is not possible, to make an earlier test.
