For local levelling of substrates before sticking ceramic and stone claddings, thermal insulation boards in thermal insulation systems, making traditional and thin layer plasters, underfloors and screeds, laying waterproofing, applying filler as well as finish coat (cement, gypsum and acrylic ones) and also for profiling slopes, making pressure layers and plaster coves. Joint thickness should not exceed 50 mm. Can be used for patching small damages in concrete, reinforced concrete and masonry structures, mineral plasters and for repairing cement underlay and floors. Allows to proceed to further work quickly. Intended for interior and exterior use. Frost resistant.
Package
Single: 25 kg bag / Collective: 1200 kg shrink-wrapped pallet
Substrate type
Concrete, reinforced concrete, cement underlays and floors, cement and cement-lime plaster, walls made of ceramic and silicate bricks and hollow clay blocks, as well as of cellular concrete blocks.
Substrate preparation
The substrate should be dry and strong enough, free from dust, dirt, fat, paint and bitumen. The substrate surface should be rough and porous. Widen existing cracks and scratches to min. 5 mm. Scratch smooth surfaces, loose surfaces treat with ALPOL AG 700 deep-penetrating primer and absorbing surfaces prime with ALPOL AG 703 product. If greater adhesion is needed, use ALPOL AG 702 primer. If local repairs are carried out, rub a small amount of mortar into the substrate (after having been wetted with water) to form a bonding layer (the so-called washing), immediately apply the required amount of mortar (“wet-on-wet”) and level off to the required thickness.
Instructions for use
Stir the bag contents manually or mechanically with a specified amount of clean and cold water to bring the mixture to the homogeneous and required consistency. Allow 5 minutes time and stir again. Apply the mortar with a trowel or steel plain float and level to reach required thickness. Bond subsequent portions of the mortar before the material starts setting. Applied mortar can be smoothened with Styrofoam, felt or steel float. Roughen surfaces to be covered with ceramic tiles. Use prepared mix within 2 hours from mixing with water. If the mortar thickens in that period of time, stir it again thoroughly without adding water. Adding too much water impairs all mortar characteristics, such as adhesion and strength.
Tools
Low-speed electric mixer, mortar mixer, trowel, putty knife, steel float, container for mortar and water.
Working conditions
Work in ambient temperatures between +5°C and +30°C. Do not add any other agents to the mortar. Protect fresh masonry work from excessive drying and moisture.
Storage
Store in original, unopened packages in dry place – shelf life 12 months from production date. Protect from moisture during transport and storage.
Notes
The specifications and instructions for use are based on the temperature of 20(±2)°C and relative air humidity 65(±5)%. The workability may vary depending on conditions. Becomes alkaline after mixing with water. Irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin. Appropriate eye, respiratory system and skin protection measures should be used. In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Keep out of the reach of children. Use water to clean fresh dirt or ALPOL AI 770 cleaner to remove hardened dirt. The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage resulting from unskillful or improper use of the product.
General recommendations
When making pressure layers, observe the rules related to making construction, contraction and isolation (edge) expansion joints. The anti-shrinkage expansion joints should divide the floor into fields not larger than 30 m2, with a side length of less than 6 m. When making underlays on balcony terraces, the size of the field without expansion joints should not exceed 6 m² and the length/width ratio of the field should not exceed 4:1. Work according to building practice, observing health & safety standards and regulations.
